Plastic Bag Round-Up

SSES collected 2715 bags for the Plastic Bag Round-Up coordinated by Take Pride Winnipeg!
Thank you to all of the families that sent in bags to keep them from our landfill.  These bags will be used to create a garden box for our gardens!

  1. Thank you Mrs. Chapnick, SSES students and families for your involvement with this event. We just received the planter box and it is unbelievable to think that it is created by plastic. It looks just like wood and it is super heavy! I think our Blueberry Buddy Bench was also made from plastic bags and it is heavy too (and beautiful!). I want to challenge all of our students and SSES families (and community) to not only re-use plastic bags but reduce by taking your own cloth bag to the store when shopping. If we reduce the amount of plastics that we use, this will also help our environment. Together we can make a difference!! Congratulations!
