On Friday, February 21st, SSES celebrated the closing of the Winter Olympics. You could see our Canadian pride in the sea of red and white! GO CANADA GO!!!!
Three Ukrainian dance groups performed during the closing ceremonies. We were so proud of our SSES dancers ~ it was a wonderful way to celebrate!!!!
Thank you to Mrs. Chapnick for organizing these incredible Olympic events for our school ! Not only are the Olympics one of my absolute favourite things, following the events and coverage encapsulates every aspect of our teaching and learning curriculum-Math, Science, Art, Social Studies, Language Arts, Health, Social Justice...it is everything we try to instill in our students in terms of citizenship, diversity, global awareness, harmony, and peace. I am so grateful for the Olympics...and to be a Canadian! I also love that there were so many role models evident in this year's event, and they weren't all medalists. Many amazing stories to explore...
