On Sept.20th SSES had our Terry Fox walk. We walked and ran through Vestureland. Kids brought in a Toonie for Terry to raise money for cancer research. We were walking to keep Terry's walk going. We were walking for hope!
Yesterday we had our community barbeque. Many families came out on an ugly night. It was windy and cold. There were hot dogs, pastries, cookies, cinnamon buns, juice and water to enjoy. Thank you to the Kiwanis Club for making all of the delicious food. Thank you family and friends for coming!
We are so proud to introduce our SSES Bloggers. Throughout the year, these enthusiastic Grade 4 students will be profiling events, activities and new initiatives at SSES. Complete with press badges, notepads, netbooks and cameras, they will bring you "Life at SSES" from the amazing perspective of a child!
We have new stick bugs for pets in our classroom! We got the fish tank first. We researched stick bugs before we got them. They eat lettuce. They need sticks to climb. They sleep all day so they are nocturnal. We collected sticks from our playground and swiss chard from our garden for their home.Judy gave us the bugs. They grew.We have six stick bugs. Some are small and some are big.We have to change their food every couple of days.We spray their food with water so they can get water.

Yesterday we went for a walk in our community. We saw a huge spider in between the benches. We saw the Police Station. We saw Sobey's. We saw RONA, Sobey's and the Red Apple. We had cameras and I took a picture of the fire station. We carried clipboards and we sketched things that we saw. We saw the bank. We saw the old Chudd's and we saw a truck with a trailer carrying a quad. I took a picture of the geese and \I didn't zoom in because I didn't need to. The geese were annoying because they kept honking. We saw a nest at the Aspire Theatre. We think it might have been an eagle's nest or a horned owl's nest. The walk was tiring....we have a BIG community. We didn't even see the whole community. We took almost 400 pictures! Wow! It was fun!!!
